Refund Policy

1. General Cancellation Policy
1.1 Student Cancellations
  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

  • Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged at the full rate.

  • Sessions cancelled with appropriate notice will be rearranged at the earliest possible time.

1.2 Tutor Cancellations
  • If the tutor must cancel a lesson for any reason, a replacement lesson or full credit/refund will be offered.

  • We aim to give as much notice as possible.

2. Refunds for Private Lessons
2.1 Prepaid Lessons

If you pay in advance for a block of lessons:

  • Any unused lessons can be refunded as long as at least 24 hours’ notice was given for cancellation.

  • If lessons have already taken place, only the remaining unused lessons may be refunded.

2.2 No-shows
  • Missed lessons without notice (“no-shows”) are non-refundable.

3. Refunds for Online Lessons
3.1 Technical Difficulties
  • If the tutor experiences technical issues that stop the session, the lesson will be rescheduled or refunded.

  • If the student has technical issues (internet failure, device malfunction, etc.), the lesson may still be chargeable unless cancelled with 24 hours’ notice.

3.2 Last-Minute Cancellations

The same 24-hour rule applies to online lessons.

4. Refunds for School Lessons
4.1 School Absence
  • Lessons missed due to student absence (unless authorised by the school) are generally still chargeable, as the tutor’s time is reserved.

4.2 School Closures / Events
  • If lessons cannot take place due to school activities, timetable changes, or closures, the school will decide whether lessons are refunded, rescheduled, or credited according to their own policy.

5. Term-Based Payments (Schools or Private Students)

If a term of lessons is paid in advance:

  • Refunds may be issued for remaining lessons only, not lessons already delivered.

  • If the student withdraws mid-term, unused lessons may be refunded at the tutor’s discretion.

6. Illness Policy
6.1 Student Illness
  • If a student is ill, please provide as much notice as possible.

  • Lessons cancelled within 24 hours due to illness may still be chargeable, depending on tutor availability for rescheduling.

6.2 Tutor Illness
  • If the tutor is unwell, the lesson will be rescheduled or refunded.

7. Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable once purchased:

  • Books

  • Workbooks

  • Printed materials

  • Custom resources

  • Exam entry fees

  • Gift vouchers (unless required by law)

8. Short Notice Emergency Exceptions

We understand emergencies happen.
Refunds or rescheduled lessons may be offered at the tutor’s discretion for:

  • Sudden medical issues

  • Family emergencies

  • Situations outside the student's control
